TuneXP 可以把Windows XP的開機檔案搬到硬碟的最外圈，再重組磁碟，因為硬碟在讀取資料的時候，最外圈的傳輸速率是最快的。

至於重組磁碟則不難理解：電腦裡的軟體經過多次的增 刪與使用，資料在磁區的分布就會漸漸變得凌亂不堪，重組磁碟就是把資料重新整理排序，讓硬碟不用找資料找得那麼辛苦，開機當然也就會快了。

經TuneXP 調校後增快的幅度跟你電腦原本的開機速度有關：開機速度慢的電腦，增快的幅度會比較明顯；而開機原本就快的電腦也會再增快，只是提升的幅度可能沒那麼多。
